(ANNAPOLIS) Ashley Mickan of South Iron basketball seems to set a high precedent for future Panthers players every time she steps on the floor. In her senior season, Mickan has accomplished two significant feats that will leave an impression on the program.

Before the Black River League Tournament began last week, Ashley eclipsed the 1,500-point mark for her career.

That hard work has been noticed by NAIA’s Lindenwood University in Belleville, where Ashley will further her basketball career.

The opportunity to play for the Lynx came about because Mickan never stops working on her craft.

Lindenwood-Belleville is a member of the American Midwest Conference and is currently 13-5 this season. South Iron is 12-4 after winning the Black River League championship this past weekend.
