(Annapolis, Mo.) The votes have been tallied and area coaches have chosen Dusty Dinkins of the South Iron Panthers as the 2019-2020 Regional Radio Boys Basketball Dream Team Coach of the Year.

The Panthers finished the season 29-1 and captured their second consecutive District Championship.

Dinkins says he’s humbled by the selection.

From the outside looking in, an undefeated regular season and a district title may have seemed run of the mill for the Panthers.

However, Dinkins says his team had to battle through plenty of adversity throughout the season and he’s proud of his team’s ability to do so.

Having spent the past 17 seasons at the helm of the South Iron boys basketball program, Dinkins says their successes would not have been made possible without the hard work of the players, assistant coaches, and surrounding community.

Over the past 10 seasons, the Panthers have averaged 23 wins per year and have captured four district titles.

Along with Dinkins’ selection as boys basketball coach of the year, junior Brock Wakefield and sophomore Drenin Dinkins were also selected to the Regional Radio Boys Basketball Dream Team.
