Southeast Missouri has Avoided Extreme Heat so far This Summer

(Farmington) Summer in southeast Missouri usually brings us one to three mini-heat waves where high temperatures reach the upper 90s to the triple digits for at least three of four days in a row.

We have escaped that so far.

Alex Elmore is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in St. Louis.

He says we won’t have extreme heat this week but after that, it’s a possibility.

In fact, after Friday, the National Weather Service forecast shows high temperatures for southeast Missouri to be in the lower to middle 90’s for the upcoming weekend and into next Monday.
