Squirrel Just One of Several Hunting Seasons Now Underway in Missouri

(Salem) Missouri’s hunting seasons are starting to open now. Dove season was the first to open and Bow season for deer and turkey got going on Wednesday.

Another fun animal you can hunt right now is the squirrel.

Dent County Conservation Agent Jason Midyett says squirrels are plentiful but don’t be greedy like these out-of-staters who will now be paying a hefty fine for their gluttony.

Missouri hunters can bag the eastern gray or fox squirrel.

The daily limit is 10 and the possession limit is 20.

Squirrel season runs through February 15th.

Another fun season also began Wednesday and that’s gigging season for non-game fish on Ozark streams and lakes.

Gigging season runs through January 31st.
