St. Francois County Health Board On Monday Meeting

(Park Hills) The St. Francois County Health Department Board of Directors will meet Monday morning to revise it’s mandate concerning the wearing of masks that was to take effect that same day. Health Department Director Amber Elliot says language regarding criminal penalties has been removed because the order will not be signed or supported by County Commission; nor will the prosecuting attorney or law enforcement support or enforce the order. We asked her if she was disappointed about having to issue the new order.

Jack Poston is the director of the board of directors. We asked him if this was still considered a mandate, since all the language involving penalties has been taken out.

Farmington attorney Tom Burcham issued a challenge to the health department board. We asked Poston if he had any comment on that.

Monday’s meeting will begin at ten o’clock at the health department in Park Hills.
