(Park Hills) No new cases of Pertussis, or Whooping Cough, have been reported in the past week in St. Francois County. Tiffany Roth is the communicable disease coordinator at the county health department. She says Pertussis is a highly infectious disease that affects the respiratory tract.

Roth says Pertussis can be especially dangerous for young children. She says it can be treated with antibiotics. Vaccines are also available at the health cetner in Park Hills.
