(St. Francois County) The total number of reported cases of the Coronavirus has now exceeded 100,000 worldwide. Amber Elliot is the director of the St. Francois County Health Center in Park Hills. She says one of the things that has made this so difficult to treat is that it’s a new strain of the disease.
And because it is a new strain, Elliot says officials think it may be at least a year before there’s a vaccine.
Elliot says the health department has been meeting with school officials and restaurant owners this week, informing them of the risks of the Coronavirus, as well as the proper precautions to take. Hear more with Elliot below.
