St. Francois County Man Arrested for Threatening to Blow Up Catholic School

(South County) A St. Francois County man is accused of threatening to blow up a Catholic school in St. Louis County.

55-year-old Randy Brown of Leadwood is charged with making a terrorist threat in the first degree.

Reports say on February 7th, Brown approached employees at Assumption Catholic Church in South County.

Employees say Brown was asking for assistance.

When church employees asked what kind of assistance he needed, Brown allegedly became upset, threatened to harm himself and then blow up the Catholic school which is located on the church grounds off Mattis Road.

After the threat, the church and school went on lockdown.

Police were then called and Brown was arrested and taken to the St. Louis County jail.

Brown’s bond is 50-thousand dollars.

He will have a bond reduction hearing this Tuesday and his preliminary hearing has been set for March 7th.
