(St. Louis) A St. Francois County man has been sentenced to prison on federal child porn convictions.

A news release from the U.S. Attorney’s office says 42-year-old James L. Rodgers of Farmington was sentenced Friday to 16 years in prison to be followed by a lifetime of supervised probation for receiving child pornography and coercion and enticement of a minor.

According to the plea agreement, on or between May 1st of 2019 and October 9th of 2019, in St. Francois County, Rodgers used the internet and social media to communicate with multiple victims under the age of 10.

Rodgers used social media to request the victims to engage in sexual acts and that they produce and send him images and videos of sexual acts.

An examination of Rodger’s cell phone by investigators also revealed he was distributing child porn with others over the internet.

On September 22nd of 2019, Rodgers shared 11 videos and 9 images of child porn and again on September 27th that same year, Rodgers exchanged 5 videos and 16 images of child porn over a social media platform.
