St. Francois County Owl Creek Park Addition

(Desloge) A resolution was approved by the St. Francois County Commission this week for an agreement with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to acquire 108 acres adjacent to the Owl Creek County Park.

Commissioner Patrick Mullins says 710-thousand dollars will come from the ASARCO settlement funds for the purchase of the property and maintenance.

Bore holes left from previous lead mining explorations will also be capped.

Mullins says no county funds are being used to expand the park west of Desloge on the Big River.
