St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney Gets Grant

(St. Francois County) The St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has announced it has received a grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety. Prosecuting Attorney Melissa Gilliam says they’ll use that grant to help in the prosecuting of people accused of crimes against children and sexual offenses.

The grant is for just over 173 thousand dollars. Gilliam says they are already actively looking for the new investigator and attorney. In addition to the St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department also received a grant from the department of public safety. In all, 1.8 million dollars worth of grants were awarded.
