(St. Francois County) A local use tax was voted down Tuesday night by voters in St. Francois County. If approved, it would’ve allowed tax money collected by internet companies to come back to the county. Presiding Commissioner Harold Gallaher was disappointed with the loss.

We asked Gallaher if they would be putting the issue back on the ballot.

Gallaher says it would’ve meant as much as an additional million dollars for the county if approved. The issue went down to defeat by less than 200 votes.
