St. Louis woman killed in four-vehicle accident on 21

A St. Louis woman was killed in a four-vehicle accident on Highway 21 south of Vineland Road on Tuesday night. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 46-year old Thomas Fitzgerald of House Springs was driving a 2012 GMC Sierra south on 21, and attempted to improperly pass two vehicles, a 2011 Ford F250 driven by 65-year old Michael Ronchetto of Potosi….and a 2017 Ford Explorer driven by 36-year old Robin Hayes of Cadet. As Fitzgerald was passing the vehicle, he struck a northbound car, a 2014 Volkswagen Passat driven by 49-year old Holly Francis. Francis lost control and spun into the path of the Ronchetto’s F250, in which the two vehicles struck one another. Meanwhile, Fitzgerald’s Sierra returned to the roadway and struck Hayes’ Explorer, and traveled off the right side of the roadway striking several trees. Holly Francis was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS personnel. Ronchetto was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South with moderate injuries. The accident took place a little before 7 o’clock Tuesday night.
