St. Paul’s Brakefield, Turner, and Ziegelmeyer Sign with Shawnee Community College Baseball

(Farmington, Mo.) They’re the three best friends that anyone could have and now they’re heading off to play college baseball together.

A trio of St. Paul Giants, Drew Brakefield, Brey Turner, and Cody Ziegelmeyer have all signed and will be continuing their baseball careers at Shawnee Community College next year.

Brakefield was the first baseman for the Giants baseball team and he says he’s thankful for the opportunity to play at St. Paul.

Turner was the backstop for the St. Paul baseball team and was a gritty player behind the plate.

He says playing at St. Paul was, simply put, amazing.

Ziegelmeyer was a left-handed pitcher for the Giants but could also be found patrolling the outfield when not on the bump.

He says the St. Paul baseball team felt like a family.

Head coach of the St. Paul baseball team Jimmy Brakefield says he’s proud of what these three have accomplished.

Brakefield, Turner, and Ziegelmeyer will look to help turn around a Shawnee team that went 6-31 in 2019 and was 1-11 before the 2020 season was suspended.
