St. Paul's Ryan Dempsey Named Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Play It Forward Athlete of the Week

(Farmington, Mo.) Ryan Dempsey of the St. Paul Giants boys basketball team has been named our latest Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Play It Forward Athlete of the Week.

The senior put on a scoring clinic last week as Dempsey dropped 62 points across two games, scoring 33 against Marquand-Zion on Thursday and 29 against Egyptian Tamms on Friday.

St. Paul head coach and athletic director Justin Ford says Dempsey had told him early in the week that he wanted to do something special as a tribute to the passing of NBA legend Kobe Bryant.

Ford says Dempsey’s progression as a player has been impressive given that he didn’t join the St. Paul team until his junior season, but it’s a testament to his hard work and dedication.

As part of the Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Play It Forward Athlete of the Week Award, Ryan Dempsey will receive a t-shirt, a certificate, and the Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy will donate $25 to a non-profit of his choice.
