St. Pius At Valle To Close Out The Regular Season On J98

(Ste. Genevieve) The St. Pius Lancers and Valle Catholic Warriors will close out their regular seasons Friday on J98. The 7-1 Lancers captured their first I-55 conference title, and first conference championship in almost 20 years, last week after beating Bayless 37-14. St. Pius head coach Dan Oliver will worry about the trophy presentation until after the playoffs.

Friday night’s opponent is the undefeated, second-ranked team in Class Three, Valle Catholic.

One element of Valle’s success on offense this year is the run game. Junior Bryce Giesler has over 1,000 yards on the ground, the first Warrior to hit that benchmark since 2013.

When quarterback Chase Fallert got hurt earlier in the season, his cousin Grant was asked to step in despite not playing quarterback at the high school level. The sophomore has done pretty good leading the number two team in Class Three.
