St. Pius baseball seeks crucial conference win at Grandview on KJFF

The St. Pius Lancers look to take a big step towards a conference championship when they face the Grandview Eagles Monday in Jefferson County Baseball on KJFF.

St. Pius might be just 6-5 overall, but they are 3-0 in the JCAA Small-School Division.

And, while pitchers like junior Tate Ramey and freshman Zander Street have been stars, Lancers head coach Dan Oliver believes seniors Zander Parson and Michael Bollinger have been the leaders that the team needed.

Grandview is 4-6, leaning on players like juniors Chase Wilson and Clayton Riddle.

But youngsters like sophomore Trenton Cookerly have started to emerge, and Eagles head coach Jeff Ketcherside says patience is key for his team to figure it all out.

The Lancers have 8 straight victories over the Eagles since 2013.

Grandview will look to end that streak and put a bump in St. Pius’ road to a league title Monday afternoon.

Coverage starts just after 4 o’clock on AM 1400 KJFF.
