The St. Pius Lancers baseball team went on the road and edged out the Ste. Genevieve Dragons 3-2 in a battle of two state ranked teams that was heard on Regional Radio. Senior pitcher for the Lancers Jeremy Isenman was our Applebee’s of Farmington Player of the Game as he pitched 6 innings and only surrendered 2 runs.

Isenman also showed off his ability to field his position with the Patsy’s Furniture Play of the Game.

Isenman at one point retired 12 consecutive Dragon batters. The Lancers were led offensively by senior center fielder Tyler Hedtkamp who had a two-run home run in the 3rd inning.
St. Pius was up 3-0 heading into the 7th before junior Keaton Boyer hit a two run homer. The Lancers held down the fort after that though to secure the 3-2 victory.
St. Pius assistant coach Eric Lawrence tells us about the balance of celebrating the win and keeping in mind the bigger picture.

St. Pius improves to 9-0 and will next face Crystal City at home on Tuesday. Ste. Genevieve is now 8-2 and has Arcadia Valley on the road Monday.
