St. Pius’ Eggemeyer commits to golf at Central Methodist

(Festus) While the Class of 2021 is preparing to start its final year in high school, one senior is already making plans to continue their athletic career in college.

St. Pius Lancers senior Jayda Eggemeyer has committed to attend and play golf at Central Methoidst University in Fayette.

Eggemeyer says CMU reminds her of home.

Eggemeyer has to play with the boys at St. Pius, but she’s never struggled.

As a sophomore in 2019, she earned a bid to the Class 2 sectionals and missed the cut for the state championships by 3 strokes.

She says a good short game and playing well around the greens has been a key to her success.

Eggemeyer has also been playing in a junior league in the summer, and she says now that she’s gotten her scores less than 10-over par on a normal basis, she wants to stay there.

Central Methodist still plans on playing golf this season in the spring.
