St. Pius Football to Feature Several New Faces
The St. Pius Lancers football team finished 8-3 last year with a 2nd round playoff exit. Entering this season, the Lancers are a young team, but have put together a strong body of work over the summer.

Frank Ray is the new head coach of the Lancers. He boasts a young team filled with freshmen and sophomores who ae ready to contribute. He expects this group to be competitive.

The Lancers are only returning three seniors: quarterback James Smith, center Allen Reed, and offensive lineman Ayden Eldridge.  A fourth senior is trying football for the first time. Patrick Flanagan has played soccer throughout his high school career, but has been a standout off the field.

On the field, Flanagan has been impressive. He’s adjusted well to the contact that comes with the game of football.

Coach Ray says his defense will be aggressive and create chaos for opposing offenses. His own offense is going to be physical as well, and is designed to compliment the defense.

On paper, the Lancers are a young team with something to prove. They’ll get their first shot in Week 1 against Brentwood on August 25th.
