(FESTUS, Mo.) The St. Pius Lancers used a dominate second quarter to runaway with a 75-55 win over the Grandview Eagles in a JCAA Small School Conference battle.

The Eagles led by four at the end of the first quarter 13-9, but the Lancers made some personnel changes and used a full court press to force some turnovers and speed the game up against the Eagles outscoring them 28-14.

The Lancers forced Grandview into over 20 turnonvers in the game. St. Pius used a balanced scoring attack with 12 of their 13 players registering into the scoring column. They out rebounded Grandview 39-23 on the night. Junior Jalen Thornton and forward Luke Klahs led the scoring attack with 11 points each. Klahs did the majority of his work down low…

With the win, the Lancers improve to 7-5 on the year while the Eagles fall to 4-10. St. Pius is next in action against Bishop DuBourg next week while Grandview will battle Valley Park.
