St. Pius’ Ruble does it all in Dream Team season

(Festus) St. Pius Lancers junior Nate Ruble is becoming one of the most versatile football stars in the area.

He affected so much of the game that coaches couldn’t help but put him on the Regional Radio Dream Team.

Ruble had plenty of responsibility in his first season playing for Lancers head coach Dan Oliver.

He says that set him up for success as a junior.

Ruble lead St. Pius in rushing and receiving yards on offense and was the leading tackler for the Lancers on defense.

It was as a pass catcher he had to make biggest strides, and Ruble says practice with quarterback Collin Smith made perfect.

When it’s all said and done, Ruble says it’s his mentors both past and present that have made him into the player he is.

Ruble collected just over 1,000 yards from scrimmage and 11 touchdowns on offense.
