St. Pius Senior James Smith Is The Applebee’s Of Farmington Athlete Of The Week

(Festus) St. Pius High School senior James Smith was chosen as the Applebee’s of Farmington Athlete of the Week.

The quarterback and safety did a little bit of everything for the Lancers in their 46-14 win over Grandview on Friday. James completed 10-of-20 passes for 283 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. On defense he recovered a fumble for a touchdown, had two interceptions, 11 solo tackles and four assisted tackles.

St. Pius head coach Frank Ray says Grandview came in with a game plan to take away the run game.

Coach Ray says the senior is a great leader.

For being named Athlete of the Week, Smith will receive a t-shirt, certificate and a coupon for a free entrée at Applebee’s in Farmington.
