St. Pius Takes 2nd Place in Class 4 State Volleyball Tournament

(CAPE GIRARDEAU) The St. Pius Lady Lancers brought home the State volleyball Class 4 second place trophy Friday as they lost a tough match to Incarnate Word in straight sets,
25-15, 25-23 and 25-20. St. Pius head coach Shannon Leftridge says she told the team after the match they had a lot to be proud of.
Leftridge says Incarnate Word was an especially tough opponent.
According to Leftridge she will have special memories of this year’s team.
The Lady Lancers end their season with a record of 24-6. With the championship, Incarnate Word completes their season with a record of 31-10-1. The championship match was played at the Show Me Center at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
