St. Pius X Faces Fair Grove in Columbia, Spot in Class 3 Championship At Stake

The St. Pius X Lady Lancers are looking to add on to what’s been a historic season as they seek their first ever state championship game appearance. They head to Columbia to square off against the Fair Grove Lady Eagles at Mizzou Arena this afternoon. St. Pius Head Coach Aaron Portell has studied film with his team leading up to this important game, and he says he’s seen some things that could prove to be an advantage for his team.

Coach Portell talks about another point of emphasis for tomorrow’s game.

Fair Grove enters at 23-7 as the Class 3 District 11 Champions having defeated the Clever Lady Jays and Fatima Comets to reach to state semifinals. St. Pius defeated the Metro Lady Panthers and Saxony Lutheran Crusaders en route to their first ever state semifinal appearance.

The 24-5 Lady Lancers and 23-7 Lady Eagles will face off at Mizzou Arena this afternoon with tipoff set for 2:00 pm. We’ll have coverage of this game beginning at 1:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
