(Jefferson County) Jefferson County Government is now on the list with many other agencies taking precautionary steps to avoid COVID-19 by reducing business hours and the amount of people allowed in county government buildings.

Jefferson County Elections Clerk Ken Waller says county business hours will be reduced starting on Tuesday.

The amount of staff on shift is also being minimized for the time being.

Meanwhile, Waller mentions his staff has been busy with absentee ballots for the now June Municipal Election.

Jefferson County Government business hours are now 9 am through 4 pm Monday through Friday for the foreseeable future.
