State Rep Becky Ruth on House Bill 1044 fuel tax

(Jefferson City) State Representative Backy Ruth of Festus filed House Bill 1044 in the Missouri Legislature late last week. Ruth, who serves as the House Transportation Committee Chair, says this bill would add a gas tax at the pump.
Ruth says the bill would also have the Missouri Department of Transportation share their financials.
Missouri State Senate President Dave Schatz (Shots) was recently considering asking voters to approve a gas tax but has since filed Senate Bill 262 which will implement this tax through a bill on the senate side. Missouri has not raised the fuel tax since 1996.
