Will the open enrollment bill pass into law during this Missouri legislative session in Jefferson City? The majority of the House is for open enrollment but the majority of the state senate have been against this bill in the past and a good number of school superintendents are also against this bill. State Representative Mike McGirl of Potosi voted in favor of open enrollment as it has already fully passed out of the House.
And McGirl thinks open enrollment is the best thing for students, even if many school leaders are against the proposal.
This is the fourth year the Missouri House has passed an open enrollment bill but the State Senate has stymied the bill the past three years.
