(Jefferson City) The Ste. Genevieve girls captured their second Class Three state track championship in Jefferson City on Saturday with three individual state champions. The Dragons won the title by a single point over Blair Oaks. The two teams went into the final event, the 4 x 400 meter relay, separated by 10 points. Blair Oaks won that event, claiming 10 points, but Ste. Genevieve finished the event 8th, giving them a point and the outright title. Coach Tyne Huck says her runners Jaden Wehner, Marysa Flieg, Maci Reynolds, and Megan Aubuchon didn’t know what it would take before the final gun sounded…

Megan Aubuchon stood out with state championships in the 100m hurdles and the 300 hurdles, plus a 5th place finish in the high jump and anchoring that final relay…

Maci Reynolds also placed in both hurdle events; 7th in 100 and 8th in the 300.
Marysa Flieg won the state title in the javelin.
Coach Huck says the depth of the team was key to winning the championship…

Etta Heller finished 14th in the shot put and Maggie Myracle finished 16th in the discus and .
The other state title for the Dragon girls came in 2013 with three other top three finishes in between.
