(Ste. Genevieve) The Ste. Genevieve girls basketball team earned a commanding 53-41 win over Central tonight on J98 as the Lady Dragons claimed their third straight MAAA Large School regular-season title.

Ste. Genevieve came flying out of the gate and raced out to a huge lead right away in the first quarter.

It was a more tightly contested second quarter, but the Lady Dragons got a huge boost at the end of the half and went into the locker room flying high.

The 18-point halftime lead was more than enough breathing room for Ste. Genevieve the rest of the way.

Central was able to cut it down to single digits in the second half but never quite got within striking distance as the Lady Dragons pulled away down the stretch for the big win.

Ste. Genevieve head coach Jordanna Walk-Robison shares her thoughts on the game.
