Ste. Gen Girls Use Big Second Half to Race Past Farmington on J98

(Farmington) A close game early wound up as a blowout as the Ste. Genevieve girls basketball team went out on the road and took down Farmington by a final score of 62-37 tonight on J98.

The score was tied 12-12 at the end of the first quarter, but it was all Dragons the rest of the way.

Ste. Genevieve raced out to a quick lead in the second quarter thanks to some sharp-shooting from senior point guard Maci Reynolds.

The Dragons would push the lead to nine at the break as they went into halftime up 31-22.

The second half was more of the same as Ste. Genevieve outscored Farmington 31-15 over the final two frames and senior Sydney Bumgardaner put the finishing touch on the game.

Dragons’ head coach Jordanna Walk-Robison says she could not have asked for a better performance from her team.

Ste. Genevieve improves to (8-4) overall and (1-0) in MAAA Large School Division play and will be back at home on Saturday when they host Valle Catholic.

Farmington falls to (9-3) overall and (0-1) in MAAA Large School Division play and will have a week off before they host Potosi next Friday.
