(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.) – The championship game of the MAAA baseball tournament is set after Wednesday’s semifinals as heard on KREI. Game one saw top seed Ste. Genevieve cruise past Farmington 8-3. Sam Stolzer came through for the Dragons in the bottom of the third, extending a cushion they would never relinquish.

After improving to 17-4, Dragons head coach Mike McDaniel had plenty of praise for Stolzer, the Applebee’s Player of the Game.

Game two was tied at 1 for the first four-and-a-half innings before the North County Raiders busted out with a six-run frame en route to knocking off the West County Bulldogs 7-3.

North County improves to 13-6-1, and Raiders head coach Chris McClain said attitude was the key.

North County will travel to face Ste. Genevieve Saturday afternoon for the championship game, which will be played after Farmington faces West County for third place. You can hear both final games of the MAAA Tournament starting at 12:45 on Saturday on J-98.
