Ste. Gen Post 150 Hosts Festus Post 253 On J98

(Ste. Genevieve) Catch American Legion baseball on J98 Tuesday evening when Festus Post 253 (7-12) travels to Yanks’ Field in Ste. Genevieve to take on Post 150 (13-6). The summer series is tied at one but Festus has the bragging rights after a 6-1 win Friday night at the SIU Showcase in Carbondale. Festus coach Aaron Mayer says his starting pitcher was the driving force behind the win.

Black went the distance in the 5-inning game allowing 5 hits and striking out 4 batters. Mayer says Nate Moore will get the ball Tuesday evening and will look for a different result having thrown against Ste. Gen in the 8-1 loss on June 15th.

Ste. Genevieve ended a four-game skid with a 15-3 win over Charleston on Saturday. Coach Junie Basler says they’ll turn to Dream Teamer Aiden Boyer with the hopes of winning the season series over Festus.
