Ste. Gen Post 150 Routes Mineral Area 416 At Wilson Rozier

(Farmington) Ste. Genevieve Post 150 finished off the regular season with a convincing victory over Mineral Area Post 416 last night 12-1 in five innings. Ste. Gen started hot in the first inning with a lead-off double from Zach Boyer and an RBI single from his cousin Aiden Boyer. The second inning is where Post 150 would blow the game wide open. After scoring 2 runs off walks, Slade Schweiss stepped up to the plate with bases loaded.

Ste. Genevieve scored 2 more runs before the top of the fifth to lead 8-1, then at the top of the fifth frame, Zach Boyer would scorch another double and bring two home.

Then Grant Fallert would put Post 150 up 11.

Head Coach Junie Basler says his team was locked in mentally for this game.

Mineral Area’s Kooper Kekec brought home Jobe Smith in the fourth inning for Post 416’s lone run of the game. Zach Boyer was named the Applebees of Farmington Player of the Game going 2-3 at the plate with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. Ste. Genevieve finishes the regular season with a record of 17-8 while Mineral Area falls to 5-4. Post 150 will advance to Zone play this summer for winning the regular-season title and is the number-1 seed for the district tournament next week. Mineral Area will either be the 2 or 3 seed.
