(KENNETT, Mo.) – After a wild win in Park Hills last week, the Ste. Genevieve Dragons will get a shot at the Class 3 District 1 football title when they visit the top-seeded Kennett Indians Friday on J-98. At 8-3 and riding a six-game winning streak, the Dragons have used an improved rushing attack and strong defense to reach the district championship game. Dragons head coach Ken Weik said his defense has played faster recently.

Kennett is undefeated at 11-0 and ranked fifth in the Class 3 media poll. The Indians’ offense is led by Marsayv’aun Harrell, who has more than the 1,600 rushing and 28 total touchdowns. Weik said after playing Kennett earlier in the season and losing 33-0, he knows their offense will be tough to stop.

Even though it will be a tough challenge, Weik said his players are ready for it.

The Dragons will kick off with the Indians Friday at 7 p.m. with pregame coverage starting at 6 p.m. on J-98.
