(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.) – Regional Radio’s football coverage will feature the renewal of the Old Settlement Rivalry Friday night as the Ste. Genevieve Dragons face the Valle Catholic Warriors. Both teams come in at 1-0 to start the year, but the Warriors have enjoyed a five-game winning streak against the Dragons since 2013. Warriors head coach Judd Naeger said he doesn’t want his players to treat this game any differently.

Valle Catholic was listed at the top of the Missouri Class 1 rankings after defeating St. Vincent 47-9 last Friday. Coach Naegar said he is encouraged by quarterback Chase Dunlap’s play early on.

On the other side, the Dragons hope to build more momentum after a 21-0 victory over Dexter in Week 1. Dragons head coach Ken Weik said the offense has played well as a unit so far.

Coach Weik is hoping his team can relax before taking the field against Valle.

Ste. Genevieve and Valle Catholic will renew their rivalry at Father John Dempsey Field Friday night at 7 p.m. on J-98. The Flieg’s Equipment Pregame Show will begin at 6 p.m.
