Ste. Gen Wins Defensive Bout Over West County, 43-40

(LEADWOOD, Mo.) – The Ste. Genevieve Dragons boys basketball team traveled to Leadwood Monday night and defeated the West County Bulldogs 43-40 in a game heard on J-98. Ste. Genevieve started out quicker, leading for most of the first half. But in the third, the Bulldogs stormed back to take the lead into the fourth quarter. Ste. Genevieve then answered with Logan Trollinger hitting his 3rd three-pointer of the night.
Late in the fourth, with Ste. Genevieve up by one, both teams traded blows.
Donze led the Dragons with 12 points on the night. Dragons head coach Rob Coleman said it was a defensive battle.
Hayden Roney led the scoring for West County with 16 points. Ste. Genevieve improved to 6-2 while West County fell to 5-3. The Bulldogs will face Steelville on Thursday while the Dragons are off until the Central Christmas Tournament. They will take on Perryville next Thursday in the first round on J-98.
