(STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.) – A couple of teams with even records through four weeks of the high school football season will do battle on Friday night as the 2-2 Central Rebels travel to take on the 2-2 Ste. Genevieve Dragons on J-98.

For Central, they have now won 2 straight games versus Fredericktown and at Windsor after two close losses to tough teams in St. Clair and MICDS.

With a two headed rushing attack featuring senior plus reigning Parkland Health Mart Pharmacy Play It Forward Athlete of the Week Gage Manion and sophomore Dayshawn Welch, head coach Kory Schweiss says they’ll run the football almost exclusively until it stops working.

On the side of Ste. Genevieve, they come into the game following an overtime 20-14 win over Potosi a week ago, which snapped a two game skid against the likes of Valle Catholic and Kennett.

The Dragons will be much more willing to throw it with their senior quarterback Logan Gegg, who aired it out 29 times in the victory a week ago.

Head coach Ken Weik has been pleased with the play at the sport’s most important position.

Central won this same game last year in Park Hills by a score of 28-7.

Coach Schweiss is preparing for a team in Ste. Gen that knows his Rebels well.

And Coach Weik on the Ste. Gen side knows this is a crucial game for his Dragons.

You can tune into the game between the Central Rebels and the Ste. Genevieve Dragons Friday on J-98 with the Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show beginning at 6 on Regional Radio.
