Ste. Genevieve Football Jamboree with Central, Valle Catholic, and St. Pius Canceled

(Ste. Genevieve) The first football event of the season in southeast Missouri has been canceled – albeit just a preseason scrimmage.

The football jamboree that was set to take place on August 21st at Ste. Genevieve High School that would have featured Ste. Gen, Central, Valle Catholic, and St. Pius has been canceled.

Ste. Genevieve Athletic Director Jeff Nix says all participating schools were a part of the decision that was solidified by MSHSAA’s latest press release.

Nix reiterated that the decision was not made based on COVID-19 case numbers in the surrounding areas, but rather with the hope that canceling the jamboree will help all teams involved to be healthy for week one of the regular season.
