(STE. GENEVIEVE) Two teams on different trajectories clashed on J98 last night with Ste. Genevieve halting the St. Vincent Indians 78-55.

The Indians entered the contest with a seven-game win streak while averaging 78 points per game, while the Dragons totaled only four wins and averaged 57 points per game. The reversal of offensive production was led by junior Chad Donze.

The Dragons junior finished with 16 points, leading all scorers.

St. Vincent kept it close early with an early four-point play from Evan Clifton.

Clifton was the lone Indian to reach double digits with 13 points.

A lack of intensity on the defensive end from St. Vincent combined with on-fire shooting from the Dragons created a lead that was never lost after the first quarter.

St. Vincent head coach Bruce Valleroy says his team didn’t respond to adversity well.

Ste. Genevieve head coach Rob Coleman says his offensive success fuels the team.

The Dragons improve to 5-10 and travel to Central tonight while the Indians fall to 11-3 and will play for Perryville pride against the Pirates on Saturday.
