(Ste. Genevieve) The Ste. Genevieve high school softball team has found its new leader. Becky Keim was named head coach for the Dragons on May 18th replacing long-time coach Russell Toombs. Keim has acquired a treasure trove of experience through the years, having won a state high school championship with Oakville then playing at division one Southern Illinois for an all-time great coach in Kerri Blaylock, so she is ecstatic about the opportunity to lead the Dragons…

While playing under Blaylock at SIU, Keim learned the benefits of being a blue-collar worker and plans to bring that work ethic to Ste. Genevieve…

Keim hasn’t wasted any time instilling those values upon her team. It hasn’t even been a month on the job yet she’s already begun offseason training…

Keim takes over a team that won a school-record 16 games last season but the new coach wants to set the bar even higher…

The Dragons finished last season with a record of 16-9 but lost to Potosi in the Class 2 District 3 Tournament.
