The Ste. Genevieve Dragons football team won a nail biter against the Central Rebels, 21-20. The Dragons offense started off hot with an opening drive touchdown strike.
The Dragons would add another score before Central found the endzone. Caden Casey had a long catch and run to set up Jobe Bryant for a one yard score. The Dragons would take a 21-6 lead into the halftime locker room. It was a tale of two halves, however, as Jobe Bryant tossed two touchdowns on trick plays. This one put Central within a point.
Central had another unsuccessful two-point try following the score, and Ste. Genevieve held on to win 21-20. Dragons coach Jay Pope was thrilled about the victory, but says the team needs to build on it.
Ste. Genevieve will take their four game win streak on the line against Potosi next week. Central has lost their last two games and is set to host Valle Catholic in Week 6.
