Ste. Genevieve Hosts Another Successful Unified Track & Field Meet

(Ste. Genevieve) Ste. Genevieve hosted an MAAA conference Unified track & field on Wednesday for the second consecutive year. Tyne Huck is a coach for the Dragons high school team and one of the organizers of the event. She tells us why last year was so special and why they wanted to expand upon that event.

Kristi Cleghorn is the Special Olympics Head Coach at Ste. Genevieve. She says it’s a team effort to put this meet together.

Ste. Genevieve is a National Banner Unified Champion School and has even received recognition from ESPN by making their 2022 Honor Roll. Ben Johnson, the Unified Champions Schools Specialist for the St. Louis Metro Area of Special Olympics Missouri, says this is a remarkable accomplishment.

Festus High School is also a National Banner Unified Champion School. J98 was broadcasting at the meet Wednesday morning.
