Ste. Genevieve Hosts St. Pius On KREI

(Ste. Genevieve) The Ste. Genevieve Dragons will host the St. Pius Lancers at Yank’s Field Friday afternoon. We’ll have the broadcast on AM-800 KREI.

The Lancers are 11-6 on the year after a thrilling 14-13 win over Valley Park Thursday afternoon. St. Pius scored three runs in the top of the 7th to take a 14-11 lead before holding on for the win. Earlier on Thursday, coach Dan Oliver said he was pleased with how his guys have competed this season.

Ste. Genevieve are just 4-13 this year, but the Dragons have had the Lancers’ number this millenium. Ste. Gen leads the series 13-8 since 2000. For as many times as these two teams have played, Oliver says it can still be difficult to scout an opponent at the high school level.

The Dragons and Lancers will battle it out at Yank’s Field in Ste. Genevieve at 4:30 Friday afternoon. Coverage on AM-800 KREI begins at 4:15.
