(Farmington) Ste. Genevieve Post 150 took down the Mineral Area Orioles 10-to-five Wednesday night at Wilson Rozier Stadium on KREI. Ste. Gen was leading by two going into the sixth inning when Post 150’s Jayden Gegg stepped up to the plate and hit a long ball that confused the whole stadium for a minute.
The ball hit the top of the wall in dead center field and Gegg ran the bases as if the ball was in play, but the umpires ruled it a home run. The game had a couple lead changes early on, but Ste. Gen head coach Junie Basler instructed his team to stick to the fundamentals.
Ste. Genevieve improves their record to 7-2 while Mineral Area falls to 3-8 on the season.
