Ste. Genevieve School District Acquires Land for Prop SG Project

(Ste. Genevieve) Several construction projects will be taking place in the future on the campuses of the Ste. Genevieve School District.

This is thanks to district voters who voted in favor of Proposition SG last year that will allow several improvements to be made to the district.

Bailey Otto is the communications director for the Ste. Genevieve schools.

She tells us about an acquisition the district just made.

Otto explains what’s going to be built on this property.

Also thanks to Prop SG, a ground breaking ceremony has taken place at Bloomsdale Elementary School.

That school is getting a new secure main entrance that will be composed of an approximately 15-hundred square foot addition.

This will allow the school office to securely welcome visitors and route them either into the office space or into the building.

This space will include a double-gated entry, offices, a work space and a restroom.

The existing spaces where the offices are currently located will be renovated.

The Bloomsdale Elementary project was the first of the Prop SG projects to begin construction.

Dr. Paul Taylor, superintendent in waiting, told Regional Radio he hopes the Bloomsdale project will be finished by the time the new school year starts up in August.
