Ste. Genevieve Softball Looking to Find Consistency in Second Half of Season

The Ste. Genevieve Dragons softball team enters the midway point of the season at 9-6 having played some tough competition both in and out of state.  They started the season in the Brookland Bearcat Blast in Arkansas, going 1-2 before defeating the Kingston Lady Cougars in their home opener 11-0.  Manager Becky Keim says the goal this season was to face challenges, something the team has been dealing with all season.

Ste. Genevieve then went to Murphysboro, Illinois, losing that game by a final of 11-0.  Since then, the Dragons have proceeded to win seven of their next games, scoring as many as 20 runs in a single game.  The Dragons are also seeded number one in the upcoming MAAA Softball Tournament.  Keim talks about a couple of key factors heading into the tournament.

The Ste. Genevieve Dragons do have a couple of games on the docket before turning their attention to the MAAA Softball Tournament.  They’ll face both the East Carter Lady Redbirds and the Kennett Lady Indians tomorrow before heading back home to face the Kingston Lady Cougars on Monday afternoon to begin their quest for the MAAA Softball Tournament Championship.
