Ste. Genevieve starts district title march with Class 4 District 1 semis vs Sikeston

(Cape Girardeau, Mo.) It’s been a tremendous season for the 9th ranked Ste. Genevieve Dragons girls’ basketball team, but now comes the goal of winning a district championship.
The ninth-ranked Dragons get the postseason started Monday when they face Sikeston in the Class 4 District 1 semifinals on J98.
Ste. Gen has followed the lead of juniors Maci Reynolds, Marysa Fleig, Megan Aubuchon and Sydney Bumgardaner to win 24 games and only lose one all season. That came to North County in the semifinals of the MAAA Tournament.
Sikeston is 15-10 after beating Dexter in the first round.
Ste. Genevieve edged out Sikeston 64-58 when they met on January 25th.
