(Ste. Genevieve) The Ste. Genevieve Lady Dragons volleyball team had a stellar 20-6 record last year, but their postseason run came to an end sooner than they had hoped. Ste. Gen won the MAAA Conference Tournament but lost the Class 3 District 2 Championship game to Park Hills in four sets. It was strenuous 2020 campaign as teams around the area had to play through a pandemic, but Dragons head coach Carla Basler learned some important lessons about her team in the process.

Basler has some big holes to fill on the roster this season with some key departures. Setter Brittney Kreitler is gone after setting a school-record in career assists with one thousand six hundred-forty eight helps to her name. The Dragons also need to replace their libero and one of their middles, but Basler has a lot of confidence in her younger players.

Basler is excited for this season to start.

Ste. Gen kicks off their 2021 campaign next Monday at home against Jackson.
