Steelville City Council Passes New Budget

(Steelville) A new budget for the City of Steelville will go into effect on July 1st.

During Monday night’s city council meeting, the new budget was approved.

Mayor Terry Beckham says the pandemic caused the budget numbers to be much smaller than the current budget.

Mayor Beckham says Steelville is back running at full strength including city parks.

In other news from Monday night’s Steelville City Council meeting, a bid was approved to purchase asphalt for some city street work.

Mayor Beckham says they will be doing some work on Frisco Street and some other secondary streets.

Laptops were approved to be purchased which will be used by city council members during their meetings.

Also, two high schoolers were hired as seasonal employees to do weed eating work in town.
